My husband and I visit Cheekwood Estate & Gardens (https://cheekwood.org/) every spring for their Cheekwood in Bloom event. Thousands of gorgeous flowers are on display throughout the gardens. Whenever the site has a big event, they typically call in a couple food trucks for visitors to enjoy for lunch. I was so excited when we arrived because one of my favorite food trucks was there! I first tried Tennessee Tatercakes (https://www.facebook.com/tennesseetatercakes/) at the Wilson County Fair in 2019 and had been wanting their food again ever since.
Tennessee Tatercakes is the food truck for anyone who loves fried potatoes. Their slogan is "Do good, eat taters." Need I say more? The menu selection is impressive with every dish starting with a base of fried tatercakes. You can get pork bbq, mac and cheese, chicken, and tons more options on top of your delicious, crispy, potato jewels. I went for the Mac Attack which consists of shredded cheddar cheese, bbq sauce, and creamy mac and cheese on top of my two tatercakes. You can choose to get a single or double of tatercakes, I went with the double. It does include jalapenos, but I asked for those to be kept off since I'm not a fan of spicy foods. The service was friendly and the food was quickly brought out. If you get the opportunity to try their food, take great care in how you eat that first bite. It will forever seal the deal on Tennessee Tatercakes as one of the best food trucks around. Be sure to take you fork and go all the way down to the tatercake and get a bite with the potato and a little bit of all the toppings. Your life will be forever changed. The combination of the potatoes, mac and cheese, and bbq sauce was magical. I can't emphasize enough how delicious their food is. They frequently post their locations on their Facebook page, so be sure and "stalk" their page a little bit. Give Tennessee Tatercakes a try and you'll forever be craving those magical potato dishes until you can have them again.
