A few months ago, I was in Atlanta for the weekend and had a fantastic meal that I wanted to share with y'all. For those of you who have been to Atlanta, you know Mary Mac's Tea Room ( https://marymacs.com/) is a must try restaurant. Known as "Atlanta's Dining Room", Mary Mac's walls are lined with autographed photos of everyone from Alan Jackson to Steve Martin. This place is an institution that is loved by all who dine there. It was the number one place I wanted to visit when I planned my trip.
Upon entering Mary Mac's, I instantly knew I was in my element. The place looks exactly how you'd imagine a tea room to look: white linens, big comfortable chairs, and wall décor that highlights the restaurant's history. The menu had every southern food you can imagine. I wanted to try it all and I was in luck! Mary Mac's offers something called the Southern Special. The waitress brought out multiple plates of delicious dishes such as sweet potato souffle, turkey and dressing, baked mac and cheese, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and more. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. My favorite dish was the turkey and dressing. The turkey was tender and melted in your mouth, while the dressing immediately made me want Thanksgiving to get here as quickly as possible. As if that wasn't enough, they brought out Georgia peach cobbler for dessert. Oh... and did I mention the sweet tea was amazing? Just the right amount of sugar (which means it was super sweet!) Need I say more about this place?
