Sunrise (https://sunrisethebreakfastplace.com/) is a popular spot for brunch and breakfast in Decherd, Tennessee. My family has been frequenting this restaurant for years, so I thought it only appropriate to share it with y'all. Sunrise has one of those menus that makes it difficult to decide what to order. Everything looks delicious and I've never heard anyone complain of a bad meal. Their menu has one particular item that has drawn visitors from all over: chocolate gravy. Never had it? Do yourself a favor and run, don't walk to Sunrise.
The restaurant was packed and the staff was friendly, as always. They quickly found a table for our friends and family who came with us. Here comes the hard part: picking something off their menu when you know everything is good. I've recently become quite fond of chocolate chips and pecans mixed into pancake batter. When I saw it on the menu, I immediately knew that would be my meal of choice. If you live in an area (like me) that is low on breakfast foods, this is worth the drive. The pancakes are made with their sweet cream recipe, served in a stack of three, drizzled with pecans and chocolate syrup. In a word: amazing. Take a trip to Decherd and see for yourself!
