Wolfe's Cafe & Market

About 10 miles from Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee, there's a town called Savannah.  It's full of small town charm and is known as the "Catfish Capital of the World." One of our favorite places burned down in 2021, so we were looking for a new place to try during our annual visit to the battlefield for living history events.  A new place had opened up called Wolfe's Cafe (https://wolfescafe.com/) and the reviews sounded great.

When we entered the restaurant, I was surprised at how much seating was available despite it being Easter weekend. We were immediately seated by friendly staff ready to take our order.  The walls are covered in family photos and we quickly realized that the Wolfe family had been in the restaurant business for years.  The owners came around and welcomed everyone to their new place, offering drink refills and assistance throughout our visit.  When we visited this year, I ordered the same thing I had ordered during my prior visit: chicken salad sandwich served on grilled sourdough bread, potato salad, and chocolate cake. My husband's strawberry pie was ordered and loved by so many at our table that I had to share a photo of it, as well.  One thing that we loved that was new this year was the addition of homemade rolls and strawberry butter that was brought out piping hot to the table for us to enjoy before our food came out.  The blend of the melted strawberry butter on the hot roll made all right in the world for just a few moments.  Everything was delicious and left us wanting to go back again and again.  When you walk in the door, there are lots of items to shop such as home décor, baseball hats with fun sayings, local honey, cutting boards, and lots more.  If you're a dessert lover like me, go check out the dessert case once you've been seated.  Their dessert options are vast and the quality is amazing.  You can find anything from cakes to pies to cookies and other options, as well.  Wolfe's is the kind of place you visit that is so good, it makes you want to move to the area just have access to it on a weekly basis.  The atmosphere is inviting and the food is mouthwatering.  Take a drive to Savannah, Tennessee and see for yourself!
