Chicken Parmesan Sliders

One of our new favorite recipes that we discovered in 2021 is chicken parmesan sliders.  This is the perfect meal for anyone who either has chicken nugget loving kids or just personally loves breaded chicken, cheese, and bread (like me!).  Try these and let me know what you think! They'll soon be one of your go-to recipes, as well.

Ingredients:

  • 12 pack Hawaiian rolls (I use the King's Hawaiian savory butter rolls)
  • 12 large chicken nuggets (I use frozen, breaded chicken tenders)
  • 1 cup marinara or pasta sauce (our favorite is Rao's)
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp. grated parmesan
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (plus more for greasing the pan)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Directions:

  1. Start off by cooking the chicken according to the package directions; set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and butter the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
  3. Cut the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half without separating the rolls; place the bottoms in your prepared dish and bake for about 3 minutes (just enough to slightly toast the bread so that it doesn’t get soggy).
  4. Place a precooked chicken nugget or tender onto each one of the bottom pieces and then top with the marinara followed by the mozzarella cheese and top halves of the rolls.
  5. Mix the melted butter with the garlic powder and Italian seasoning, and then brush it evenly over the top. Sprinkle with grated parmesan.
  6. Cover your dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover, and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the buns turn golden brown.

This recipe makes 12 mini sandwiches which feeds my husband and me with a few leftovers.

Is your mouth watering, yet??
